AS THE LARGEST COLLEGIATE INVESTMENT CONFERENCE IN NORTH AMERICA, THE UIC BRINGS TOGETHER INNUMERABLE STUDENTS AND PROFESSIONALS FROM ACROSS THE COUNTRY. ALONG WITH WORKSHOPS, KEYNOTES AND NETWORKING OPPORTUNITIES, TEAMS HAVE THE CHANCE TO WIN CASH PRIZES BY PRESENTING THEIR STOCK PITCHES IN FRONT OF A PANEL OF PROFESSIONAL INVESTORS AND THE ENTIRE CONFERENCE AUDIENCE.
The 2022 Conference will be held from April 1st-2nd
Each team of 2-5 members will pitch an equity, long or short. Pitches are evaluated based on quality of idea, analysis, and presentation. First round pitches must be under 15 minutes. Teams that advance to the final round will up to 18 minutes to pitch, followed by Q&A from the judges panel.
FIRST ROUND: DETAILS FOR 2022 COMING SOON. These pitches will be evaluated by an external panel of professionals and judges, primarily weighted on their core idea, analysis, and presentation. As there will be no judges Q&A for first-round pitches, teams are strongly encouraged to include a 1-2 page writeup highlighting any inflection points, research, and/or further clarification that would otherwise surface in a Q&A session. The top teams from the first round will advance to the final round for a chance to present in front of the entire conference on April 1st.
FINAL ROUND: DETAILS FOR 2022 COMING SOON. Finalist teams will be selected and notified.
These teams will pitch their ideas in front of a panel of executive-level investment professionals and the entire conference audience.
RULES: Stocks are to come from the universe of companies with market capitalizations above $500 million and share prices above $2 as of the close of regular trading on April 1st, 2022. Selections must be a stock (common or preferred), including ADRs and GDRs. Pair trades are acceptable as long as each security would be eligible on its own. ETFs, ETNs, Closed-End Funds, and other exchange-traded securities, including derivatives (options/futures) and currencies, will not be eligible for the competition. Additionally, equities must have a three month average daily volume of at least 100,000 shares (as of the close on April 2nd) and must trade on the NASDAQ, NYSE, or NYSE AMEX (no OTCBB or PinkSheets). The opportunity will be evaluated as a long or short position with a three to twelve month investment horizon.
